Robbie Melton, Associate Vice Chancellor for Mobilization and Emerging Technologies at the Tennessee Board of Regents.
Dr. Robbie Melton shares her latest thinking and research on education transformation and the impact of mobile devices and applications for teaching, learning, and workforce development. As TBR’s Associate Vice Chancellor for Mobilization and Emerging Technology, Melton’s innovative and ground-breaking work touches the daily lives of more than two hundred thousand students and educators served by Tennesee’s statewide education system. She oversees the system’s mission and initiatives for strategic mobilization planning; quality assurances; educational use of mobile devices related to teaching and learning; and the coordination of research, product testing, and pilots.
She has published and presented extensively on the impact and value of mobilization for education and the workforce and has acquired a new distinction as the world’s first “appologist”—a reference to her study of the pedagogy and best teaching practices with mobilization, her work on quality standards for the utilization of mobile apps, and her creation of a massive Mobile App Education and Workforce Resource Center.
